About 50 years ago, Martin Luther King delivered a famous speech: I have a dream. Now, it is still lingering in the air forcefully and vividly, encouraging millions upon millions of people to have a dream and to fight against all kinds of impediment and make their dream a reality.
Almost everyone has dream as early as childhood, but as time went by,the enegy, ambition that one can attain his or her goal begin to wither away gradually. The dream that once seemed to be so wonderful, so stimulating now become so unrealistic and reachless. We become so worldly that we put most of our time and energy chasing after something that is supposed to be “useful” in future and leave our dream behind.
Until one day ,I read an article about people’s dream in life ,a line greeted my eyes and I was deeply impressed by it: Be a king in your dream”----so short but powerful. It reminded me of my experiences.
One day,I met one of my fellowtownsman and talked with him about future. I told him that I wanted to go on my study as a postgraduate student. When I said it just seemed to be a dream, that I was not sure I would succeed ,I just wanted a try.He told me that if I even did not have the simplest confidence that I could make my dream come true,I’d better give up now .”You don’t know the power of self-blief .It is what make you think that you can realize your dream and sustain you to the end.”
After a deep reflection, I suddenly found myself become so optimistic and enthusiastic. I found out the reason of my several failed
experiences: it isn’t because I didn’t make my best ,but that I didn’t have the ambition to be the king of my dream and began to flinch in front of setbacks.
So now what I am doing is to do my best to realise my dream . Whenever something bad loomed in my way towards my dream,I will say to myself: nothing has really stopped until you stop trying. And I begin to gain strength and courage again, and again I am confident that I can be the king of my dream. |
