Menes was the founding king of the First Dynasty of Egypt. He unified Egypt and established a kingdom with a long-term and brilliant influence in the history of human civilization.
The date of Menes's birth and death is unknown, and it is generally believed that he may have been around 3100 BC. Until then, Egypt was not a unified country, but composed of two independent countries. After Menis unified Egypt, he called himself the "King of Upper and Lower Egypt".
Before Menes, Egyptian culture lagged far behind the culture of the two river basins, and the unification of Egyptian politics seemed to have released the potential power of the Egyptian people. Unification has indeed brought about rapid social and cultural development: the birth of papyrus, the use of Pliny and the construction of dams. The government and social institutions were developed in the early dynasty: the establishment of the capital and the use of one country, two systems.
For centuries, Egyptian culture has been comparable to the culture of the two river basins, and in some ways. In the 2,000 years after Menis, Egypt was the most advanced country in the world from the perspective of wealth and culture.
