1 I'm so sorry to say that the whole passage can be shortened into the following:
Choosing is an issue we have to face all through our life. From a baby to an old man, we choose our hobbies; we choose which university to study in; we choose a way of working and living; we choose a man or a woman as our partner. Even when you are on the edge of dying, you may have to choose your way to die according to your own wills. As a saint had told us: your fate is in your own hands, we operate our destinies. And your chose influences your life even your destiny. (A: pay attention to the shift of pronouns in this paragraph. B: As a saint says, our fate is in our own hands.)
Time is so limited that we have to learn to choose. For even a saint is not able to do everything in a day, nor is it possible for him to do everything in his life.
