“I have to take an important exam tomorrow, but I haven’t prepared for it. I was wounded in my left hand when I was playing basketball, and a bad cold fell on me at the same time. Misfortunes never come alone. My girlfriend wanted to break up with me. I couldn’t bear it any more and I’m the poorest guy in the world.” That was a short message my friend sent to me some days ago. It seemed that he had suffered a world of pains and ran the gamut of human beings’ misfortunes. If so, how about thousands of children who dropped from school? How about these disabled people who even couldn’t stand up? How about these victims who died of bird flu? How about those bachelors who never fell in love before? Thank God! My friend is not anyone of those really unfortunate people; otherwise he would commit suicide rather than send me a message.
My dear friend, why not show some gratitude to what you already have and cherish them? Most of those people who are suffering can still look at their lives in an almost uncomplicated way and exert themselves. They grasp the essence of gratitude and cherish. To reach the ultimate reality of life is to cherish life.
Life is an important exam, you have to prepare for it without and delay.
Life is a basketball, if you are skillful enough, you will control it without being hurt.
Life is a bad cold, the more exercise you take, the more chances you will get to recover from it.
Life is a girlfriend; you should care more about her, who will in turn treat you well. |
