The Most Valuable Things

    Several days ago, I saw a film which told about a story happening on the Mars. People who live there in the future have to pay for the air for their survival. Maybe the plot can just be seen in science fiction,nevertheless, it did arose my reflection afterwards.
    Do we ever notice that the most valuable things we own are free?
    The fresh air that we have to breathe to live is free. the warm sunshine that is esssential for every living thing is free. The love, no matter the unconditional love from our parents or the love between man and woman, is free, for nobody need to pay for what our parents did for us, nor do we pay for the faithfulness of everlasting love from our spouse.
    What's more, our dream is free. Whether you want to live a successful and prosperous life or a poor and mean life,it's up to you to make the decision. Once you are willing to do what is in your minnd, you can set it as a goal and struggle for it.
    Besides these valuable things listed above, we also own faith, hope, persistence,etc. All these are precious gifts God endowed us. Therefore, no sigh any more, because God is fair and generous. He had given all the valuable things to people ever since we were born.
    However, what a pity that so many people nowadays are compaining about our so-called misfortunes constantly. Money, power, desire are the spring of our dissatisfaction. The eager pursuit for the earthly wealth blurs our eyes to discover the beauty around. Can't we say it's the sorrow of our present quick-fixed society? What's worse,with the over-expoitation of the natural resources, we've faced with a series of severe envirenmental problems as well. How can we lay such a heavy burden of envirenmental debt upon our off-spring? As far as I can see, it indicates, to some extent, the selfish of human being.
    Yes, we are only human beings on the one hand. However, on the other hand, we are so lucky to be human beings. We have the ability to listen, to speak, to read, to write, to think, to reason, and most importantly, to correct mistakdes. That gives us new opoortunity to recover the scars left by our wrong doings in the past and return to the harmonious world we once own. And that is the very thing which is the most valuable to everyone in the planet. Thus, it should be cherished.
