The campuswatches her strolling around the campus everyday, in the same old filthy schooluniform which is too short and small to wrap up her skinny little body. Whoevercomes across her would draw a picture of her as an idiot in mind as she isalways giggling and murmuring to herself. Besides, she waves and smiles atthose she meets. But harsh words and scolding would be the only reward of hercivility.

Sometimes,however, luck would peep out from the cloud and find for her some kind peopleto talk to.

I am oneof her frequent listener. Whenever she grasps the chance, a flood of wordswould flow from her lips. From her disorderly words, I get a general idea ofher life.

As theyoungest child in her family, she does not get the affection and fondness thatshe deserves as the other children at her age would get. Instead, she has tosurrender her spare time to housework to please her mother. But the fact isthat her mother never satisfies and beat her at every opportunity.

“Look atthis!” she exclaimed one day as she held up her clothes in a sudden, breakingthe storey she was telling. Two purple-black scars invaded into our sight. Theywere just like two worms crawling on her back.. “This is the reward for mywork!” she told us. A wave of shock swept over me and something cold floweddown along my cheeks.

Then wegot informed that she was not like what she is now. She uses to be the leadingdancer in her kindergarten and play the piano pretty well. But all the giftsfor art took leave of her after a serious illness.

For manytimes, she intended to say something but stuck in her throat, as a fat atrociouswoman was shouting at her. It’s impossible for her to do otherwise than ranback to the house –the so-called home in tears.

She onlywants to unpack her heart to release the emotions that is buried and festeringin it. Even such a simple right, however, has been robbed of her. Only ten was she,at which age kids should have been like angels playing in the paradise. But …

This badly hurt angel hasbeen separating from others by a wall, lonely and sadly, suffering andenduring.
