What does“unnecessary”mean? In my view, it refers to elements added to a sentence that do nothing but increase its length and complexity,while having little to no impact on its actual meaning.The book I'm reading provides many examples,some of which are surprisingly subtle.For instance,it points out the redundancy of expressions like“in the future”and“will,”which I had always taken for granted as correct.It was a shock to realize that I had unknowingly fallen into the trap of Chinglish.

As I continued reading,I was further astonished on page 12.We are usually encouraged to accumulate synonyms and alternative expressions,such as“pay attention to”and“try to do sth.”From a young age,we are taught to memorize and frequently use these phrases,especially for writing in middle school.However,this book labels them as redundant or overused in the context of Chinglish.This revelation made me question the English education system in China.Why is Chinglish so widespread and yet so hard to detect?It seems to me that there might be some issues with the way English is taught from an early age.Perhaps the focus on rote memorization and formulaic expressions has led to a lack of emphasis on natural language use and the development of authentic English communication skills.
