The Mouse and Me

  “Help!” I screamed and rush out of my room as if someone who wanted to kill me was running after me. At last, I run from the sixth floor to the first floor in one minute, which could be compared with the champion in the Olympic Game. How could this happen? It was a mouse that made me run so fast. In a word, I was frightened by a mouse that was much smaller than me in shape. Then, why was I so afraid of it?
    After my friend helped me to catch the mouse, I began to contemplate this question. However, the scared feeling was so impressive that I could not remove it from my mind. All of a sudden, I realized it was the mouse’s ugly appearance that scared me. The mouse had black fur, with long tail and sharp mouth. It gave me an ugly and disgusting image when I saw it at the first sight. Then, anther question comes into my mind: do we judge something good or bad according to its appearance instinctively?
    To the question above, many phenomena will give its answer. For instance, when a girl wants to apply for a job as a waiter on the airplane, she needs to consider whether she is high and beautiful enough. If not enough, she will have no possibility to obtain the job. We can also not deny the fact that a good appearance will be very helpful to give a good first impression that is of equal importance as one’s ability. Since we have the instinct to prefer to beauty, we are always judging people with prejudice. Then, how do we change such situation?
    It comes to the mouse again. In order to eliminate my scare of mouse, I begin to read a lot of materials on it. From the books, I know the mouse is the symbol of wisdom. Therefore, many people regard the mouse as their pet. With these conceptions, I am no longer afraid of mouse. So only when we have a comprehensive understanding of things can we judge them disinterestedly.
    At last, the relation between the mouse and me turns into friendship.
