I am who I am

Summer

　“You are my daughter,I am your father.”Father told me literally.
Father is an ordinary middle school teacher who has experienced China’s ups and downs for more than 5 decades.When Chairman Mao called for the young people devoting themselves to the countryside,father was the member of the first group of people who responsed immediately and took into action.Father always says that he was growing up with new China.Indeed,to father, happiness is his aim,and hardship is his life.Life has never been smooth,however,he has never given up and given in .
  When I was still a little baby,grandfather died of disease due to the poor family, which was souported by father.Nowdays,father often say:”If I paid more attention to your grandfather’s health,he may be still alive.”Father’s regret,and my sorrow.Father didn’t believe in destiny,ever though he couldn’t change the reality.Therefore, he focused on my growth and made great effot to provide a good education for me.
Father’s belief is:a young idler,an old begger.As time went on,this also became my belief,which guided me to improve myself and achieve my dreams step by step.
   In my primary school,when I had not had a mind of my own,father thought that I should set the stage for my future.He gave my cousin’s photo to me,and said:”He has done a excellent job in his study,and set a good example for you.”At that time ,I knew little about university, post graduate and a doctor of finance. From that time on, the permission of university was my dream for which I went the extra mile.
When I became a middle school student, I believed that I can spread my wings with efforts. Simultaneonsly, father had set new modles for me,and demanded firmly:”You can follow, you should follow, and you must follow.” Literally,I was on firm ground and followed according to his order.Nevertheless,I knew that I still have a long way to go.
  And, now, I am an university student. When I finally got the permission to enter this university ,I found that father becomes older and older,and I am still young like a little star with weak light.Father’s words
came as usural:”You ought to be successful like the great man .”
  I complained :”Father ,why I should become a great man ? Why I ought to follow other’s steps all my life ? Why you’d like to have finger in every pie ?” Admittedly ,I found my voice when I can be called an adult.
  Life is a flash in the pan.Father always says :” Don’t  to be an ordinary people like me .”Nonetheless, I am really an ordinary person in the world. Sometimes, I said to father :” You should be a famous star’s father, and that will satisfy your vanlity.” Father said nothing and I quitted.
  A man is not finished when he is defeated, he is finished when he quits.
  Until one day when I received an E-mail from my father. It reads :” After all, you are my daught , I am your father.”
  I said to myself :” Yes ,I’m his daughter ,and he is my father.”
  Due to my father’s care , I am in the company of courage and souport all these years. I am not perfect, but I still hold my head high; I am not self-confident , but I still raise my spirits to fight with hardship; I am not independent, but I still can find my feet in the society.
  Father has never tried to change me ,but to protect me by using his own way.
From the first to last ,I am one of a kind.And I have spent about 15years in realizing that I am who I am.
