In this part,it firstly focuses on "Unnecessary nouns and verbs". Regarding nouns, she points out that in Chinglish, there are often redundant nouns that add no real meaning to the sentence. Their sense is already included or implied in some other element of the sentence.
When it comes to verbs, similar issues are present. Unnecessary verbs can make the language wordy and less direct. Verbs are sometimes used in a way that weakens the expression.
And on "Overworked introductory verb phrases",it highlights how certain phrases are overused and can be eliminated to make the sentence more concise. For instance, phrases like "it should be noted that" can often be removed without losing the core message.
In my opinion, as a learner of English, I have often fallen into the trap of using such unnecessary words. These habits stem from translating word for word from Chinese or simply not being aware of more concise ways to express ideas. By understanding these issues, I realize the importance of being more critical of my writing. I need to constantly review my work, looking for redundant words and phrases. This not only makes my writing more in line with the native English style but also enhances the clarity and impact of my message. I will practice more to develop the ability to identify and eliminate these unnecessary elements in my future translations and compositions.
