Preface
The value of Chinese civilization is not what great cities，what magnificent houses，what fine roads it has built and is able to build... Rather, it is the people shaped by civilization (1. In turn, it shows the essence and personality of the civilization; 2. The language in the civilization reveals the essence, personality and soul of people).
The first three chapters are proposed to illustrate the spirit of the Chinese people and explain the value of Chinese civilization.
Chapter 4 and 5 attempt to illustrate that those foreigners who are called authorities in the study of Chinese civilization actually do not truly understand the Chinese people and the Chinese language.
The discussion in the appendix is aimed at demonstrating the value of Chinese civilization and proposing that the study of Chinese civilization is conducive to solving the difficulties faced by the world today. Regarding the moral roots of war, the author believes that they lie in the mob worship in Great Britain and the power worship in Germany, and claims that the former is responsible for the latter, as the Mob-worship led to the brutal German militarism.
To understand the true Chinese people and Chinese civilization, one needs to be deep, broad, simple and delicate.
Americans are not deep, Germans are not simple, the British are not broad-minded, and the French are not delicate.
The description of delicacy: The degree of delicacy of the Chinese people is unparalleled. It can probably only be found in ancient Greece and its civilization, and is nowhere else to be seen.
By studying Chinese civilization, Chinese books and literature, all people in Europe and America will benefit greatly.
Regarding the moral character of the German nation: loving justice, hating injustice, and blindly believing in power. The author believes that this nature makes them, when confronted with the wars initiated by the British MOBS and politicians who worship MOBS, driven by an instinctive and intense aversion to injustice, willing to make huge sacrifices and collectively tighten their teeth to build a navy, with the aim of eradicating the British MOBS. This kind of power worship that emerged from the hatred of the British mob worship eventually gave rise to the brutal and terrifying German militarism.
