Celebrity effect
A couple of days ago, I happened to join in a programme held by some famous media in the auditorium of our university. Not until the moment I entered in the hall after queuing up for quite a long time did I realized that it was a charity concert
The singers were raising money for those who were in dire need of help. That night two super voice girls and another famous singer were the honored guests. They had to assume responsibility for the charitable activities. They had to collect enough money by their songs and popularity. That’s indeed a good idea, I thought, the celebrities acted in a much better way than I had expected.
Fortunately I got a seat in the front of the auditorium so that I could see them more clearly. And unfortunately I was surrounded by a group of “vitamins” who were the fans of Tan Weiwei. They came from other cities or even other provinces, waiting for several hours outside with the only purpose of seeing and supporting their icon. They knew every song of her, her birthday, her hobbies, everything about her. It seemed that she was the hope to their life. It was crazy!
Nevertheless, the celebrities may have noticed and should notice that they are influencing their fans greatly. Since they have this kind of advantages, why not make good use of it? Why not guide their fans to do some really meaningful things for the sake of our society?
They can involve in charitable activities to help others, to show patriotism publicly when our country are facing difficulties instead of propagandizing their own albums, books and movies here and there.
If they do it, they are able to affect a large number of people. Whether they want to take the opportunity to popularize themselves or not, if their behaviors impact on others in a positive way, we should respect them. Only with the concerted effort of everyone, both the celebrities and our ordinary people can help the development of our country!
