The reason why I choose to read Clara and the Sun

When I looked through the selection of books for this semester and saw Clara and the Sun, I was definitely excited.
First of all, as a science fiction fan, I like to read science fiction very much. Clara and the Sun, as a typical work of soft science fiction, although it is covered with science fiction, it asks people's hearts. It stands out in science fiction with its excellent creation of story plot, character character, emotional morality and other aspects. My passion for science fiction and my excitement at its inclusion made me choose this book without hesitation.
Secondly, I did read the Chinese version of this book translated by Mr. Song Qian and had some emotional resonance and insights, but with the passage of time, my memory of this book has long become weak.I had not formed the habit of writing reading notes at that time so I had not recorded my thoughts and feelings about this book. It gave me such a wonderful opportunity to review the novel and write my own reflections and thoughts. After reading the novel for the first time, I searched the Internet for information about the author. I found that in the interview, Ishiguro summarized the book's creative theme as "memory, time and self-deception." Memory and time are two motifs that I have seen clearly and deeply in this book, but I have no memory of self-deception. Out of the exploration of this motifs, I hope to read this book again and see if I can have a deeper understanding with this motifs.
Finally, for academic purposes, since I initially read the Chinese version, when translating from English to Chinese, there will inevitably be a loss of beauty and some deep meaning, and I also hope to read the English version to find out the parts that are not reflected in the Chinese version, and at the same time feel the charm of English text and learn.
In conclusion, I choose to read this book.
